Hindi Phrases & Culture to Learn Before Marrying an Indian Girl

Do you have an Indian girlfriend ? Are you planning to marry an Indian brown girl ? Or you already married an Indian woman ? Guys, let teach you few words and rules you should be aware of before marrying an Indian girl. Because our culture is little different than western or African or many other Asian culture – Chinese, Japanse, Thai etc. Even in India, there are so much cultural differences. But here I am telling the general Hindi speaking family culture, or you can suppose like a Hindu family culture which is also found in Nepal, the country between Northern India & China.

Let’s start with your , soon going to be wife . I don’t know what are your understanding and how you guys are calling each other before marriage. But,

NOTE: – JEE (जी) literally means “YES” but if you suffix while calling someone or taking someone’s name, It only represent you are talking in respectful way. You are giving him/her so much respect.

How to Call Your Wife

You can call her by name. You can also call her by traditional Indian culture of calling your wife

-Are Sunti Ho Jee अरे सुनती हो जी (Hey are you listening?), 😛 😛 😀

after marriage , you can call her by child’s mother. For example, If Guddu is my son, then I will call my wife by

– Guddu Ki mummy गुड्डू की मम्मी (mother of guddu) Haha funny huh

How to Call Parents of Your Indian Wife In Hindi

Father of Your Indian Wife – Sasur Jee ससुर जी – This is the name of relation.

But, don’t call him by this name . Call by – Papa Jee  पापा जी , Pappa Jee पप्पा जी , Pitaa Jee पिता जी  , Babu Jee बाबु जी

Just like you call your father in home. He will appreciate that more.

 

Mother of Your Indian Wife – Saasu Maa Jee सासू माँ जी

You can also call her by – Mummy Jee मम्मी जी , Mata Jee माता जी , Maa Jee माँ जी

And, in reverse they will call you by – Daamaad Jee  दामाद जी (Husband of Daughter) – This is relation name.

But most parents these days use – Beta (बेटा) Son

 What to call your Indian Wife’s Brothers ?

Elder Brother of Your Indian Wife – Bhaiya Jee भैया जी

And Elder brother of your wife will call you – Bahnoi Jee बहनोई जी . But may be he can call you by name followed by Jee. Like – Nitin Jee, Michael Jee etc

Younger Brother of Your Indian Wife – Saala Jee साला जी

And, younger brother of your Indian wife will call you – Jeejaa Jee जीजा जी |

Note:- You are free to tease younger brother in good manner while elder brother you have to be respectful like for her father

 

What to call your Indian Wife’s Sisters ?

Elder Sister of Your Indian Wife – Didi Jee दीदी जी

And Eeder sister of your wife will call you – Bahnoi Jee बहनोई जी . But may be he can call you by name followed by Jee. Like – Nitin Jee, Michael Jee etc

Younger Sister of Your Indian Wife – Saali Jee साली जी

And, younger sister of your Indian wife will call you – Jeejaa Jee जीजा जी |

Note:- You are free to tease younger sister of your wife, elder sister will probably tease you, but you have to be very respectful to her.

 

Similar to You ..

Wife’s  Older Sister’s Husband – Saadu Bhaiya साडू भैया

But, you suggested to call by – Bhaiya Jee  भैया जी . You should act little respectful.

Wife’s Younger Sister’s Husband – Saadu Bhai साडू भाई

But, you are suggested to call by – Name followed by Jee.

For e.g. –  If I marry an Indian girl, then my wife’s younger sister’s husband’s name is Nithin, then I will call him like – Nithin jee.

Wife ‘s  Older Brother ‘s Wife – BhabhiJee भाभी जी

Wife’s Younger Brother’s Wife – Salhaj jee सलहज जी

But, you are suggested to call her by Name followed by Jee.

For e.g. If my wife’s younger brother’s wife name is Rita, then  I will prefer to call by Rita jee with respectful attitude.
